(35) Ota-ku Railway Community Development Plan Map 大田区鉄道沿線まちづくり構想地図 and the New Airport Line

Came across a comprehensive document describing Ota-ku’s approach to redeveloping the ward via transit-oriented development: Ota-ku Railway Community Development Plan Including the city’s views on the planned Kama-Kama Line 蒲蒲線, aka the New Airport Line 新空港線, which will bridge the 800-meter gap between Kamata Station and Keikyu Kamata Station:

The city’s landing page for this report is here: The full PDF document is here: PDF.

Here are a few of the more interesting (or at least aesthetically pleasing) graphics:

Image of a new urban area close to work and home by restructuring the living area

Moving from a central Tokyo-centric hub-and-spoke model to a localized live-work-play model (page 6).

By organically linking cities along the railway lines, Ota City and Tokyo are overflowing with interaction and creativity as “the city of Ota that develops along with the railway” and “the city of Ota that connects Tokyo and the world.” (page 8)

(3) Future concept illustration (Tamagawa Station area)

(The river at left is the Tamagawa, and the green area to its right is Tamagawadai Park
